Whether your a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or any other political party, we all have one thing in common, we are Americans. Americans are known world wide for sticking together, and helping those around us, and standing strong. On September 11, 2001, a terrible tragedy occurred, we were attacked, our country as a whole was attacked. I was only 9 years old on that day, but I remember the images, and I remember walking into the living room, after coming home from school, to see my mother crying while watching the news. I can’t explain in words how terrible this tragedy was, but you know how you feel about it. But this has brought our country closer, and we have all grown as a whole, and grown together, to become a better country. This attack made us stronger. And on this day, I would like to thank all those who have fought over seas in this war. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you have done to keep us all safe. I don’t think it is said enough, so once again, thank you, and god bless.
Will he or won’t he?
11 SepSo now the minister at a small Florida church has called off the burning of the Quran, and in return is supposed to meet with the officials in charge of the NYC mosque. However after he announced why he was canceling the burning, the people in charge of the NYC project, said they didn’t know anything about this. So now the question everyone is talking about is whether or not the minister is lying about the planned meeting… Look, that shouldn’t be what people are talking about now, the point of this is that the burning is called off. I am a Christian myself, and am totally against the planned burning. This whole story is just basically free advertising for the guys church. Think about it, the little church in Florida, has been all over new stations all around the world. Basically, this minister has given Americans a bad rep because people around the world think that we all feel this way about Muslims. We all know that’s not true. The truth is, everyone is entitled to have their own religious freedoms in this country, if this asshole wants to burn another religions book of worship let him do it, no it’s not right, but it is his freedom to express his emotions if this is the way he wants to do it. I also believe that a person who practices the Muslim religion, has every right to have a mosque built to worship their god. However, I think Muslims should have a little more respect to those who were lost on September 11, 2001. That’s the way I feel about it, feel free to comment with your opinions. Thanks for reading!
NYC Mosque?
9 SepSo I know this post is a little late, but I just created my blog today, and this is still a hot subject on a lot of Americans minds. I’m not going to give away my party affiliation, but I’m sure if you read some of my blog posts later on, you will be able to guess my party. Ok so first of all, we all remember 9/11. I was only in 3′rd grade when this tragedy happened, but I knew how serious this was for America. Even as an eight year old, I knew that this was an act of terror, and the great country that I live in was under attack. But what I didn’t know was that the man in charge of our great nation, was under so much criticism for the way he handled the situation. We all remember how he found out, when he was reading to that kindergarten class, and he didn’t get up and leave he just kept reading… Maybe this wasn’t the first thing a lot of us would have done after just getting attacked, but I think if we were in that situation we would also need some time to think about what we needed to do, and how to handle the situation. My point with this flashback is to remind you of the pressure our former president had, to do something, and what did he do? The best thing he could do, send troops to fight Al Quedia. I agree 100% with the war on terror, as for the war in Iraq, it’s a little different. I agreed that we should go in to find the weapons of mass destruction, because Iraq has had them before. I mean we didn’t find nukes, but a weapon of mass destruction is just a weapon that kills a mass number of people, right? So mustard gas could be considered a weapon of mass destruction. To be honest, I think we got the weapon of mass destruction, his name was Saddam Hussein. Now it is time to take our troops out, or send them to Afghanistan to help the other troops that are already there fighting terror. Back to the main point of this post, the Mosque that is to be built in NYC. Look, I am all about the U.S. Constitution, and our rights as Americans, and I am all for religious freedoms, but common sense tells me that this isn’t the right thing to do. We are at war with a Muslim nation, and we are going to build a mosque for them? If we allow this to happen, THEN THEY WIN! September 11, wasn’t just an attack on the families and friends of the victims, it was an attack on America, every person in America. Therefore I don’t agree with building a place of worship for Muslims, it’s not right. And I think that out of respect, the people that want this, should back down… Why does it have to be in this specific location? Why can’t it be down the road further away? Another hot topic in our nation right now is this church located in Florida planning on burning the Koran on the 9′th anniversary of 9/11. I totally disagree with this. I don’t care how much your against a religion, or a group of people, this isn’t the way to show it. That’s all I have for today, I’m going to try to post at least once a day, or whenever I have something on my mind. I appreciate everyone reading. Please leave comments, criticism, or even advice for me, as I am a new comer. And I also encourage you to share your opinions in a comment below, this is America, you have every right to disagree with me!!! Thanks again, Will
